GREETINGS!
Welcome to my safe space.

My name is Ellora Faye Llamada but I prefer being called Elly, (she/her). I'm 25 years old and I live in the Philippines. In 2018, I completed my BS in Psychology degree. Now I'm in graduate school, pursuing an MA in Psychology. Professionally, I am an experienced Human Resources Practitioner with a focus on Employee Engagement.
In my spare time, I do freelance photography (for events, streets, and portraits), read books, binge-watch Netflix sitcom series, and make Spotify playlists because I apparently like all kinds of music!

Most importantly, I am a Mental Health Advocate. I've had issues with my mental health since I was a child. Growing up, it was extremely difficult for me to take care of my well-being because I live in an environment/culture that heavily stigmatizes mental health as well as mental illness. Even the idea of taking care of oneself is rarely discussed. As a result, I've experienced childhood trauma, bullying, and emotional and physical abuse.

I've then devoted most of my life to raising mental health and/or mental illness awareness, as well as the stigma that comes with it. I believe there is still hope for all of us. Recovery and healing are possible if we actively care for our mental health one day at a time. However, I am aware that it can be difficult, especially if you do not have enough knowledge on where to even begin and a support system to be with.
That is why I decided to create this space—Moments of Being.

'Moments of being,' as defined by Virginia Woolf (one of my favorite writers), are moments in which an individual experiences a sense of reality, as opposed to the states of 'non-being,' which dominate the majority of an individual's conscious life. Or, to put it another way, moments of being are the ones we remember vividly, the ones when time slows down and awareness sharpens. Given that this is a safe space where I provide mental health resources, including my personal experiences with Bipolar 2 Disorder, among other things, I realized that this title would be perfect for my mission and vision.

This is for you.
This is for all of us.
This is a community.

A community that:
-
recognizes the importance of mental health and or mental wellbeing
-
normalizes the discussion of mental health and or mental illnesses
-
breaks down stereotypes and combats mental health stigma
-
encourages care and support for one another
-
promotes good mental health and treatment
-
and many more...

Once again, welcome!
